GM to drop plans for range-topping Cadillac sedan

General Motors has decided to deep-freeze a range-topping ultraluxury sedan it was developing for Cadillac, according to three people with knowledge of the company’s plans. GM executives recently concluded that the rear-wheel-drive car, which would have been a low-volume showstopper priced well north of $100,000, didn’t offer enough brand-building pizzazz to justify the investment, the sources said. Designers recently were taken off the program and reassigned.

Speading plea as fines quadruple

A MOTHER whose two-year-old son was one of eight people who died in a horrific road crash has spoken of the need for motorists to "break the habit of speeding to prevent more needless deaths". Tracey Mohabir's comments came as the Government announced a four-fold increase in fines available to magistrates, meaning motorway speeders could be forced to pay up to £10,000. Obituary: Bob Wallace, Lamborghini test driver

Bob Wallace, Lamborghini’s first ever test and development driver, has passed away in the Italian supercar manufacturer’s 50th anniversary year. He was 75. New Zealand-born Wallace played a key role in the development of the firm’s road cars between 1964 and 1975, having joined the company initially as a mechanic.
